水草情迷

我嘅草缸裡面不論是鐵皇冠, 矮柳, 椒草, 小水榕的葉面都長滿了綠色的, 比芝麻更小的一點點, 請問Ching這些是甚麼呢? 有甚麼方法清除及預防呢? 先謝過。

Yes, Green Spot Algae. Try to increase CO2 level and see if this helps. BTW, the leaves seem a bit yellowish. What is the colour temperature of your tubes? Far as I can recall, those tubes are not of 6500K... which is not good for plants. Also, 60W of light seems marginal for your tank.

Thanks for your advice. I will increase the CO2. Do you mean if the tank has sufficient CO2, the Green Spot Algae will disappear automatically or I need to do something else to remove them?

Yes, you are correct that the leaves are yellowish. I don’t know the colour temperature of the tubes. They came with the case. Do you think I should change them anyway?

gwong: Some c hings say that increase the PO4 level will help. But personally, I don't recommend this solution for newbies (like me). You can start with increasing CO2 level and see if that helps.

The tubes of AquaGem is proprietary. You may not be able to replace them. You can double check Philips website to see if there are 6500K 15W tubes.

Thanks Fish Fan - I have replaced the four tubes with Philips 6500K 14W. I think I should also stop add fertilizer to see if it helps.
