水草情迷

新手草缸一問
請問各位C兄c姐

我個缸30cmx30cmx30cm既缸(30L),用黑泥,海利掛細濾(BT-200)及25W暖管.

我想種陽草同陰草 (Moss,迷你矮珍珠,迷你水榕,噴泉太陽,波葉太陽及紅色的水草) 及水晶蝦

水族燈:
唔知邊種燈有適合我個缸的長度及可以種陽草? 乜w數適合? 30W, 45W or 60W? 6500~7000k? (想種到迷矮貼地). 有冇好介紹?

二氧化系統:
我個缸只係12",會唔會有適合既CO2系統? 有冇好介紹?

RedfernPoint: A few points to note:
1. ADA I soil is the best.
2. Hang-on filters are not for planted tanks.
3. 45W is fine for your tank. However, there's not such ballast for your tank. I'm not sure if there is PL tube can fit your size. Remember, 6500K is the best for plants and newbies.
4. CO2 set is a must. You can buy UP 1L cylinder with Airtec regulator. Also, you need 1-2 decent check valves, too.

So would you provide me some options for the filter please? My tank is pretty small to fit in a proper filter.

Also, I'm really struggling to find a light that is right size for my tank and strong enough for the plants, please let me know if you find any for my small tank.

I found a light "UP牌PL燈架連2支燈管14吋 - 16吋缸適用 - 1.2尺(36cm) 27W x 2 PL燈 ", can it fix into my 12" tank?

RedfernPoint: For the canister, you can choose Eheim 2213. For the ballast, 27Wx2 is too much for your tank. I'd prefer the 1' model, i.e. 18Wx2, though it's marginal. Also, you don't need a heater for planted tanks.

What about the 水晶蝦? Should I use the heater? Or should I keep the heater in the tank as it will turn off once the temperature reach the setting (24c)?

Never use heater for shrimp tanks! It kills. For the best of your shrimps and plants, you have to keep the water temperature as low as 25c. I don't think you can do that without a chiller, not to mention installing a heater.

有C兄c姐話: "蝦本身需求氧氣量係好大的, 養蝦要打氣".
Q1. 如果我種草要用CO2, 是否有衝突? 同一時間開氣泵和CO2?
Q2. 我會按照其他C兄c姐建議CO2和燈同步,但長期開氣泵會對種草有影響?
我現有Moss,迷你矮珍珠,噴泉太陽和迷你水榕,相信不會提供大量氧氣給蝦用.

As an alternative, you can turn on the air pump when the light is off.

i suggest buy 1 set from outside, such as 利x行, which including all of above. =)

Thanks Fish Fan for your advice, its a good idea. Then I should use 2 timers.

I have further question. Just want to check if the air pump will effect the pH? Increase O2 will increase pH? What is the ideal pH? 6.5? My tank pH is 7.5, do you have any suggestion to lower the pH naturally (except using pH down) please? I heard that acidic environment is good for plants and shrimps.

Adding O2 will not affect pH value. For planted tanks, I'd suggest 6.5-6.8. What do you have inside the tank? It's strange to me if you're using ADA soil and having such high pH. Light acidic environment is good for plants but not shrimps.
