I think it depends on what plants you have. I changed to UP T8 20Wx3 more than a month ago. My experience is: the plants, particularly the red plants, are not growing as well as T5HO tubes. Probably T8 20Wx4 would be much better but you can't find such lighting case in FS (except 水x店, but the width of the case is too wide that it makes the daily maintenance difficult). I have changed back to T5HO 24Wx3 and all the plants in my tank restore to their perfect conditions in two weeks. In terms of wattage, PL 36Wx2 should be fine. My only concern is - the light may not be able to reach the whole tank and some areas would have blind spots.

See whether other c hings can share their experience.

草的生長都幾好，種紅草都唔錯，只是支燈比較熱，要用把電腦扇長吹散熱

Would u also recommend any 24" T5HO Light case for me.
It seems Dazs is cheap, but not very safe and reliable!

現時我個缸24hrs有風扇吹住，27-28度
盲點又唔覺，缸的最邊種緊綠宮庭/雪花草/印度小圓葉都無問題
如擔心你可以對光要求高的草唔好放邊咪得(或兩邊種陰草)，我中間種紫紅丁香及紅蝴蝶都ok，我有諗過用T5hox4，驚太光易生藻，另外T5ho支燈貴過36wx2都幾多，36wx2二手買都係$1xx，所以就入左

cklpetit: As you may read from my signature, I'm now using BCD. Frankly, AquaGem is the former name of BCD. But AquaGem's design has some problem that violates the safety standard of EMSD:

唔好講指點，可大家研究下
有幾張舊相睇住先，當時用T5 14wx4，覺得唔夠光，所以轉用PL36wx2 ，宜家紫紅丁香會紅好多，綠宮庭D葉都翠綠些，可pm再傾

cklpetit: What I mean is that AquaGem and BCD do have some safety issues. But the fact that there is not much choice you can have at that price range in FS, and I believe many hobbyists are still using AquaGem/ BCD. I have been changing my luminaire for almost two years and finally I come back with BCD, running at my own risks...
