For Planted Aquarium, should we use 5500K or 6500K, please share your ideas bros, tks.

All tropical lamps with color temperature from 6200K to 8500k should be ok, no matter it is HQI or not. Choosing which color temperature mostly depends on the color appearance you prefer in you aquarium, for the light casting at 6200K does shine like at dawn or evening (or warm in other words), while the 8500K does shine like at noon (or cold in a sense).

Aside from the color temperature, it is also good to pick a lamp with enhanced red and blue wavebands of natural daylight, 'coz these two wavebands will favor both photosynthesis and chlorophyll synthesis. Do check the specification of the lamp before you buy.

If you exclude all other factor and focus in colour temperature only, I can tell you that even 4000K can facilitate plant grow satisfactory, but the colour of leave probably won't looks good. I personally accept lighting between 5200K to 8000K. My home aquarium are more towards the lower end 5200k - 6400K, but the display tank I setup in cafe stick with 8000K for better colour presentation.
