水草情迷

突然發現水草葉(尤其水蘭屬)變得凌亂不堪，局部有折斷情況，不知是否是草蝦咬傷造成？或者是蝸牛造成？近日缸中突然出現很多蝸牛。

草蝦系會咬傷造 d 草, 最常見到系 d 小型水草o個到 (如 6角苔等)

而蝸牛是不會的

如果草缸有鹿角苔和莫絲等細嫩水草，草蝦不放是否好些？另外如果蝸牛不咬水草，如果不處理對草缸都不會有傷害？

如果有養莫絲和鹿角苔，是否不適合放水草蝦？請問各位有種鹿角苔的網友，有否養草蝦？

I keep mosses and Lok Kok Ti with Japanese pearl shrimps and tiger stripe shrimps and there is no problem with the plants. I had an experience of pearl shrimps feeding on my Lok Kok Toi before but that was because the Lok Kok Toi was not growing well. I learned that the shrimps only feed on unhealthy plants. If the plants are in good condition there is no problem of keeping plants and shrimps together.

Thanks very much for your information. Then I'll keep the shrimps in my tank. I think the shrimps in my tank are Pearl Shrimps though I'm not very sure the species they belong to. Thanks again.

The Pearl Shrimps I mentioned look quite like the ones on the pictures(both shape and color). But the size of the ones in my tank is just about 1.5-2cm long. Could anyone give tell me some differences between the Amano Shrimp and Pearl Shrimp for reference? Thanks a lot.

The scientific name of the Amano shrimp is Caridina japonica. It is also known as the Japanese Marsh Shrimp. It is called Amano shrimp due to the fact that Mr.Amano ( the founder of ADA) introduce this shrimp to the aquarium world to control algae. In Hong Kong it is named "Pearl shrimp" by some shop owners. The problem is many shop owners don't have enough knowlege in the animal they are selling ( sorry if I offend anyone here) and they can name the animal by themselves! I found at least two different type of "Pearl shrimp" in the fish street.One of them is the real Amano shrimp and the other I'm not so sure. The shrimp in the picture is the true Amano shrimp. Maybe the shrimp you have are baby Amano shrimp.
