其實日常生活中,硝化細菌是差不多存在在身邊所有地方的.

曾聽人說過diy硝化細菌(屍水)的做法,
方法是將小魚屍一條放在一大杯水內,d水會慢慢變濁,
再過多日,d水又變番清的話,diy硝化細菌便成功了,
使用時須先過濾雜質.
缺點---但效率低(唔夠濃密及菌種問題)及須要時間事先制作.
優點---在一d很難買(唔方便)硝化細菌的地方,都可使用.

要由架缸開始講, 如果我地開新缸冇加硝化細菌, 要養菌一個月先夠菌數. 但有加菌1week 就 ok, 因o的細菌不但含菌, 而且含菌既食物, 因此可以加快缸內細菌繁殖(非額外加菌). 因買回來的菌是含很多益菌, 在樽內菌在休眠, 但在特別情況下, o的菌就會活躍起來(最緊要係有菌既食物), 菌種多可以對唔同既廢物作分解, 從而減低魚兒發病率.

我唔明的地方是既然買回來的菌不能夠繁殖,
那麼菌也有它們的壽命
在我們不再加細菌的情況下
我想問又怎樣維持菌的數目呢???

不加菌, 但你的缸早已有菌(只是數量不足), 但係加了菌 (樽內有菌既食物), 食物供給缸內既菌大量繁殖, 及o的魚繼續有屎屎, o的菌繼續有食物, 繼續繁殖.

咁你又話d菌唔會繁殖?????

Dear Emil, 我想TAM 的意思是買回來的(Dupla)菌唔會繁殖,從他的實驗證明. 而維持缸中菌的數目的菌并不是買回來,
而是在自來水內或從魚裹面繁殖出來的

I have sent a message to one of the commerical bacteria producer, their reply is as folllow.

This brand's bacteria can reproduce themselve but requires the following condition
Temp : 20 - 30C
PH : 6.5 - 8.5
Water Condition : no chlorine, no anti-biotics

So what we can conclude is that, some commerical bacteria can reproduce themselve if the condition is right.

If the bacteria in the Fritz-Zyme is given the following: Oxygen Fish waste as a food source a surface area to live one normal tropical fishtank conditions (pH between 6.5-8.4, temp. 65-85 F, no chlorine, no antibiotics)

then, yes, the bacteria will reproduce and provided a living population of nitrifying bacteria to break down fish waste products for your tank!

那倒是說我們的草缸不適合養消化菌是麼?

死魚來培養硝化細菌是可行的,但是只限於還沒放養魚新水養缸之前使用,這是一種最自然的硝化細菌培養方法。

For human, antibiotic treatment is effective for bacteria infections, but not for virus infection, for example, flu (caused by virus) cannot be treated with antibiotics. Don't know whether this apply to the aquatic envirenment but i would guess so.
So if u medicated ur tank with antibiotics, most of the nitrifying bacteria would probably be killed. This should be easy to test: measure the ammonia/ammonium level for several days after the treatment and see whether there is any ammonia/ammonium spike.

ps. different bacteria would have different susceptibility to diff antibiotics, so results will vary for diff antibiotics.

Dead fish is not the only source for bacteria food. Inorganic salts containing ammonia/ammonium can also be used. Or else, any protein containing stuffs, like meat, liver, milk, etc etc
can also be used. If u look at the chemistry, protein is formed from amino acids, and one of the essential elements in the structure of amino acids is nitrogen. So when protein decomposes, it releases ammonia and other stuffs.

So, no need to sacrifice ur fish every time u want to culture bacteria .

看到死魚被氣打得漂來漂去的, 真的有點不是滋味...

NO3是不是要安全才能放水入缸?
真想趕快結束實驗...因為我有罪惡感...

好像是當屍水由白濁變回清澈便是成功了。
