水草情迷

跟據 Ecology of Plant Aquarium講其實水草所需的肥料可從三個基本來源 - 魚糧 , 水 , 泥. 只要有光及 CO2, 水草生根就可以吸收所須養份. 加肥料會令養份過量而藻類狂生. 一列表中指出水草每月所須其實很少, 只要缸內細箘活躍就可以分解養份.

下次買肥料時三思 - 很多用具都係用來滿足購物者心理!!!

But I tried not to use any 根肥 For about three weeks, and then plant become die. Now I add some 根肥 back and the plant become better again.

this theory is only suitable to tank that don't have much light and CO2 support.
of cause plant need less when light and CO2 is limited,
but for tanks that with high light, high CO2,
nutrient from fish food and water is surely not enough.
the theory from "Ecology of Plant Aquarium" is for the so-called "low tech" tank,
which use minimun input to run the tank (but the output ,i.e.plant growth, will be minimize as well),
but when one of the input (for example, light) is increased,
you have to rise the others as well, to meet a balance situation.
so, beware that one theory does't suit to all
the main point is BALANCE.

這此都是正確的 , 水草應該不過落太多東東黎生長
不過我們正要落好多野比佢 ,,, 只因我地我水草缸沒有大自然我完美 nitrogen cycle....

平衡知易行難, 大自然同一個水草缸它會自己去平衡自己的生態 , 當我了解水草所須的養份那麼少時才知道自己之前為何問題頻生. 我跟好多草友一樣, 有齊 HOI, CO2, PH meter...........等 High tech 器材, 亦有好多錯誤觀念. 亦忽略一些基本因素, 猛加補品, 其實問題是自己太心急. 而家我跟本書所教, 好似玩 low tech 缸咁慢慢玩 , 都成 2 個月冇換水, 水質,魚及水草都生得好好, 有時我仲將光及 CO2較細來控制水草避免過份生長. 3 幾個月轉轉景, 真係好好玩.

The book provides us a very good foundation on water chemistry, the rationale of the aquarium ecology system and the balance of nutrition. Doesn't matter we are playing high-tech or low-tech type of tanks, it is important and useful for us to know the rationale. After we acquire sufficient knowledge, we may further develop our hobby to another level. Instead of using commercial fertilizer, we can make our own recipe of fertilizer by using chemicals. We can measure the chemical contain of our tank (concentration of K, NO3, Fe, PO4, .....) And add only the required chemicals. For example, if we found the leaf is turn white, we can check the Fe and NO3 / K concentration and see what is missing then add the insufficient part, e.g. chelated iron compound instead of commercial fertilizer. The ingredients of commercial fertilizers are essentially chemicals, which can be found in chemical shops. And for those who are using commercial fertilizer, the knowledge enables us to know why Step1/2/3, Brightness K, ECA, Dupla 24, TMG works in different situations.

Of course, it is all up to us to do with our tank, how much time we can afford and which part of the hobby we are interested in most. Some hobbyists enjoy the end result of a beautiful tank and not very interested in the rationale behind and prefer to use easy and convenient commercial fertilizer, some hobbyists enjoy the process of building a tank and also has the interest to know more ‘Whys’ and the rationales behind. It is all our choice.
