Well, the pricing of 新基 has always been like that, they didn't change, sometime customer has read pricing about 新宝 and mixed up with 新基 and so complain about their inconsistent pricing. From what I know, 新宝 is cheaper on SOME size but their price are the same on most 'Standard" size. My 2kg Co2 is charged at 新基 for $70 only, I don't think 新宝 is any cheaper on that.
Regarding their service, so far we have read serveral cases about 充氣不足,I agree this is not good and 新基 should either provide refill up to the 60~70 bars or refund, but then you have to bring the CO2 bottle back to them to verify, this is difficult but I don't know what else we can ask for. Similar things happened with "cheaper" source of consumer products in other area too. If you buy a computer from Fortress and have problem, you can ask them to send technician to fix it in your home, but if you buy from Golden Arcade, you probably need to bring the computer back to SSP for service, even when it is their fault sometimes.
If you think 新宝 service are definitely better, then wait until you run into the time when 老板開場打緊麻雀 (happen almost every day) or losing money.
Since both shops are fairly close to each other, I would say we should be familiar with both shops, and when one shop is not good on a particular day, we should not hesitate to move to another shop. Sometime 新基老板娘 is in bad mood, sometime 新宝老板 is in bad mood. If you want better and consistent service, maybe you can consider aquarium shop who takes your business seriously, but of course there is a premium comes with that.
