水草情迷

其實蒙脫石(Montomorillonrite)係火山地帶的一種天然土岩, 一D都唔神祕, 你當佢係火山灰加熱水就差唔多喇, Cheap嘢黎架!!!

蒙脫石有兩種, 分別係鈉型(Sodium) & 鈣型(calcium), 鈉型蒙脫石水溶性奇差, 而且呈碱性PH9-9.5)；
鈣型蒙脫石則水溶性好, 而且呈酸性(PH6-6.5)，水族用既應該係鈣型蒙脫石, 唔好搞錯呀!!!

其實, 我曾經係希臘既一個不出名既小島上, 見過一位local 既老伯伯賣類似ge 東西, 好大舊ge, 有手掌gum 大, 但有好多雜質! 那位伯伯見我好奇, 佢就用好簡單ge 英文同我講那種石ge 神奇功效! 現在回想起, 真係有d似Calcium Montmorillonite ge 功效. (當然la, 直到現在, 我都唔確定那石是Calcium Montmorillonite) 但伯伯話, 此石是希臘火山所出 (價錢好像是十多歐元, 我未還價), 係伯伯拾回來的. (真不出奇, 希臘好多local火山石賣, 而且希臘係有火山ge.)

如果大家態度正確, 我亦唔mind繼續討論, 但態度不正確ge, 我都冇mug 心機... 我唯有埋首沙堆就是了@@

前天有時間到fs, $165買了包返屋企做testing, 小弟輕輕洗滌後放了四塊石於蝦缸水中,即發現石表面開始粉碎並散落於水中, 但10mins後開始停止. 及後浸了一晚,奕日下午做testing, 結果發現pH=7.0, kH and gH等同本身魚缸水數值, 即沒有改變. 拿出沖洗後正式放入蝦缸, 至今早沒發現異樣, 報告完畢.

It seems for garden use, not sure can it be found in garden shop in hong kong.

I have Japan 蒙脫石 and also have FS 營養石, Japan 蒙脫石 seem can stand in my tank longer and not easy to 碎開. I found that FS 營養石 is very easy to 碎開. I also found that color of "some already 碎開 蒙脫石" changed to violets. I don't know why but maybe some impurity inside. And finally I throw away. I also asked the FS蒙營養石 shop manager about the use of the 營養石, they said they will normally wash them thoroughly before use.

Maybe some chemical shop in Hong Kong may have.

sometime, I will pick up my 蒙脫石 and use teethbrush to wash them, they are still very tough. and not easy to break. I still have some Japan 蒙脫石 at home. Maybe I take a photo for you guys to compare.

i tried to found it at flower market since half yr ago. all of them dunno what is "蒙脫石". (perhaps, they have another specific term.) however, i can't find any similar stone , like "蒙脫石". @@

yes, FS grade is very fragile @@ they are easy to be crushed by layer and a layer.
i guess it should be related to different impurities inside (that means from different location.)

this japanese "蒙脫石" also have some violets impurities... i dunno why..@@

oh.........yeah yeah...somthing like but more ugly. That's why I don't use FS 蒙脫石, I am afraid my CRS totally died again. Now they are very good.

I saw a old post talking about 蒙脫石 from China tim. Maybe there is 蒙脫石 mine in China.

膨潤土 is normally use as a construction materials normally for underground excavation work. But they are in power form not rock.

我search過原來好多食物裡一包包嘅乾燥劑就係用蒙脫石做架。不過唔知有無分別。用蒙脫石 +乾燥劑一search就見。

sorry for my late reply~ i am madly busy this few days.

actually, i dunno what the violet particles are.
by refering FS Koi stone, i noticed that there are some tiny violet particles. (not as much as the one in Japanese website!)
i can't make any conclusion here but the main point is ... "DOES THE VIOLET IMPURIFITIES GOOD FOR CRS?" hmm.... i dunno.

it should be contains Na,Ca, AL, Mg, Si only, none of them are violet.
- should be white in color
- world wide product.

it is not surprise that Japanese have it owns 蒙脫石. in fact, HK also have 蒙脫石 mine. (it's true!)
just in different grade and size of it, like diamond, emerald and other gems.
i am still using FS 蒙脫石. it shouldn't harm ur shrimps, CRS as well. however, i GUESS it should be faster to be used up than ur Japanese grade 蒙脫石.
