Can u tell me how frequent you change water in a week ar. i have the same problem ler.

one third of the tank water is changed 2 times per week

Just personally opinion:

I see little connection between water changes and long term algae control if the input to the tank remain unchange in terms of fish food and nutrients. The only thing come to my mind is, do water changes will simply low down the excessive nutrients we add to the tank. (actually tap water also has some nutrients already) Algae maybe under control in short term, but most people expereince that the algae will come back sooner or later.

Some good established tank has a few algae problem, but they only change the water in a couple months interval.

I would say growing some floating plants is more efficient. These plants are nutrient hungry one.

but they will 遮左D light gar.
