Hi all,

Visited fish street in the evening. Firstly, went to Wan X to see their plants, they have some hair grass at the side of the middle upper tank. By looking in detail, they are giving bubbles under the dim lighting (just 2 general day light tubes). Then I went to Fat X, watching the plant selling tank inside the shop. I found the tenellus plants at the middle, they are giving bubbles continuously. In fact, all of their plants are giving plenty of bubbles inside all tanks.

I took a bit inspection to the lighting of the plant selling tank; 3 tubes of LifeGro which in case same as me. As previous I asked, they have no chiller for those tanks and also I found the Co2 supply rate is similar to what I provided to my tank.

So why? Why I can't raise plants well? I have almost all essential equipment but seems not ok, at least why the tenellus and the hair grass are now at the edge of their life and not to grow once planted in my tank? I 've tried to add/reduce fertilizer and added root fertilizer to see the effects, but seems no use.

After I had this feeling in my mind at the moment facing their tank, I was so down and left the shop

What things I missed? Do I can't go any further step on plant keeping?

in stead of the light sourse, this also related about two main factor:

1. the height of the tank, if you higher than 14~16", then FL will be no use.

2. the water condition, athough you inject a lot of Co2, if your Co2 can;t disslove in the water, then also meuning less.

I also like you b4 in case, very sad in fact. ^_^

Tank size: 32" x 16" x 15" D about 140 L net

Filtration: Fluval 204 (Not many fish)

Media: Bottom lower "EHIF MECH", Bottom upper "Bio sponge", Middle lower "ammonia remover", middle upper "fine white wool, Top "EHIF SUBSTRAT" with fine white covered

Substrat: ADA Black mud

Co2 : 1.5 bubbles per sec

Fertilizer : Bottom none, ADA Step 1 and Brighty K each 1 push per day

Lighting: 3x 25W Hagen LifeGro

Water temp: 28 now

pH & kH : 6.0 generally, 1~2 dkH

No3 : 40ppm <-- (I think not much plant) if they grow well then should be ok but....

No2 : near 0

NH3 & NH4 : 0

By the way, does the design looks ok? Any advice to make better? What plants should be added?

o的針葉皇冠你種左有幾耐？針葉皇冠一般對光的需求不太大，三枝35火應該夠。這種草通常都會有部份舊葉枯死，只要一直有新葉及走徑出就不用擔心了。你個缸係唔係新開的？可能需要再等一等，因為我覺得這種草比較要時間適應，之後就會生得好快。同埋再分細札些少種會比較好。
我覺得你都唔洗o甘唔開心，有問題慢慢來，特別是新缸，始終種草養魚都係想開心，不需要太過看重得失。

That's right, take it easy. Thanks for your advice.

Actually the substrat is new (set up around 2 June) but the Filter (medias) was used over a year la. So the Nitrogen cycle should be ok. Now I try to add more fertilizer as I really think I added too little before.
