How to calculate the approx. output power for water pump?

E.g. a barrack of 8"x8"x8" (10 tanks) + 6"x6"x6" (20 tanks) + 5"x5"x5" (20 tanks) with a centralised filtering unit. What should be the minimum output power for the water pump ??


Pls advise!!

A medium size water pump can handle all the tanks. Because you don't mention time required.
Do you know all difference types of one watt water pump can handle same amount of water at a certain time required?
Please clearify what do you want?

I don't know? What should be the throughput rate for my barrack of betta tanks? Pls advice!!

You may just walk in and consult the shop keeper for your need else to search eg. http://aqua-creatures.com/ .

I understand you are going to set up a centralised filtering system for your tanks. And I am eager to know how you distribute adequate flow (without any overflow or insufficient return) for each tank.

Hi 果汁先生, I've posted my idea (just idea!) previously. Here it is again below.

In fact, I'm "addicted" to bettas. Always want to build an auto system so that I can raise more betta (hopefully 100s) without wasting too much time to change their water.

But still researching about the set-up materials in order not to buy something not suitable and waste time & money!!

So pls share with me your experience & do advice me!!!

I'd read this diagram before. What I concern about is how to ensure that the 'IN' and 'OUT' of each tank is identical Meanwhile I've no idea on the matter at all.

Recently I own two tanks. If there is such a cost effective system to cater the above solution, I may eliminate a filter, a heater, and the time in maintenance as well.

I seldom visit fish street, next time when I were there, I'll examine how the shop-keepers design the distribution network for their tanks.

My stupid thinking, for yr case, could u buy two cheap & same model pumps to circulate the water flow? (provided that the costs of the 2 pumps are cheaper than those equipments u could save!!)

題外話:

圖中所見,
是以一上水泵推水, 是否要夾細下層出水口以提高壓力向上推.
係既話是否要買比計算出來更高出力的泵.

倒不如改成三個上水 或 先上最高再U 返轉頭.

I always get what I need at min. cost. ie. the cheapest one.
Bear in mind meanwhile the objective is to provide a centralized, cost effective, automatic system to operate the routine job.



係呀係呀, 先上最高再U 返轉頭實際d bor. 岀水就靠外溢流(overflow)較易控制. 不過滿溢回路較難製做.

My original thought is that the downward flows will create some pressure to help pushing the upward flows once a "full & complete cycle" is maintained in a air-tight auto-system! Is this correct?

Can anybody further advise!
