I am using overflow filter, so can not install 去油器~~

I am stocking 蝦 only, so can not stock any fish wich eat oil

every 1 day, there is a THICK oil layer on the serface..

very trouble.... anyone any idea??

should I change the sand to 陶瓷砂??

I see there is a new brand seem like as 陶瓷砂 cost at $85 3L and claim to be acidic, have anyone using it??

過濾的硝化循環差, 令蛋白質不能完全分解, 就會有油膜, 你是養什麼蝦, 多不多死蝦, 餵什麼, 蝦的脫殼有沒有清除呢 !!?

應該是指掛缸吧.

Sorry, please correct me if I am wrong. It should have nothing to do with Nitrogen cycle. There are two reasons that I know of, 1. Super is right, Nutrient, especially protein from fish food, and 2. Bacteria that live on exccessive chelated iron that we fertilized for plants.

My opinions, if Surface skimmer isn't an option, try figure out what the cause is, 1 or 2 ot both, then minimizing it by either change of fish food or/and decreasing iron dosage. And create a mild surface movement to break up the film because if the surface is dead, no matter what you do, the film will be ALWAYS be there.

應該係水質差才會好快有油,可試下從改善水質入手,有冇生物環?有冇喂得太多?

襟稔稔下最可能係d 水流太大令ADA 泥溶解出油啦~~

25L 8"水 ,十數隻細種蝦。Filter 用掛缸，已入滿生化棉、生化石，但無落白棉，因為好快就塞...

蝦缸甚少甚少喂糧，死蝦會人手清，但蝦殼通常吾清，當其它蝦既補品食

no2 under 0.05
ph 6.8-7.0 (not good)
kh 0-1 (as ADA mud)

我稔會試下減低filter 流量 試試

I AGREE WITH MACBRUSH兄，
水面水流如果太弱,油LAYER會聚績,送唔到硝化系統,試把出水口貼近水面橫向排水,看看有冇好轉.

掛缸 filter 出水無得導向la

是否出入水位都在右邊?看得不清楚.左邊水流會很弱喎,可試把入水喉改去左邊下方或在左邊加個迷你潛頭試試.祝成功!

水流一定吾會弱，因為d水籣都會因水流不斷搖擺，
又時不時都會見d絲蟲比水沖出黎~~(見親就吸出黎比草缸d魚做點心)

所以我又d懷擬d水流大沖溶d ADA 泥

另我又發覺有d蝦食係泥到搵食，食食下會忽現口沫橫飛，吾知係咪襟所以加促油面形成??

If its a new setup (looks like it), just give it a few weeks for everything to settle down. I would advice against any fancy tweaking on the equipment, and water parameters at this stage. Plant more, put a few hardy fish in there, and wait.

Thanks for advice.. may be it is really because the tank is not yet stable..... but I really wonder about it as my PowerSand's Tank do not have this problem in start-up..

I can't add any fish as it is a Shrimp Breeding Tank...

and now, I have put a DIY oil remover...

just using a bottle cap, make a hole, then connect it to a long hard tube(13mm dia.), redirect the tube open end to the filter intake. Place the bottle cap just below the water surface.

and daily maintainance, when seeing the oil layer becoming thicker, draw out the layer and pour again in to the oil remover, so the oil run through the filter again and again..

it seem these two day, the oil layer is thinner..

我的缸也曾經出現油呀,
後來我養了bb 黑摩利,
效果不錯。
雖然你沒有養魚，
如果養的話你可以考慮下紅茶壺、黑摩利等去油的魚。
