Please help. I bought a yellow cat fish (Siu Chin Lin) yesterday and put it into the community tank where 20 nos. of tetras were living. But I didn't know why the yellow cat fish tried to chase the yellow tetras.

Will Siu Chin Lin eat those tetras? The shop keeper told me that Siu Chin Lin normally eat vegetable on the glass or plant.

Thank you for your reply. In the fish shop. Those Siu Chin Lin eat the things on the plant and sucking the glass surface.

I think Siu Chin Lin do not eat Tetras. My Siu Chin Lin is the most peaceful fish in my tank. They don't even eat those dry food I put into the tank. They eat...like what you said...things on the plant and the glass surface.

Chasing tetra does not mean attacking tetra. Many fishes are very curious.
Your fish might just want to know its environment. Another possible reason is that you tank is small. They were swimming in the same direction incidentally and from your point of view, it looked like one was chasing the other.
Were your tetras hurt?

The tetras are ok now but the Yellow Siu Chin Ling is still laying on the bottom of the tank. I try to upload the siu Chin Ling for fish buddies to clearify it as a real Siu Chin Ling.

By the way, one of the tetra (Yat Kwong Tan) is losing her colour and swam away from the school of fish. Is she sick or something?
