其實"水草情迷"已算是一本網上水草雜誌啦!
討論豐富, 資料夠新夠齊.

actually i had that idea long time ago, but does anyone here wanna give up infomation or do some research? coz i can do page layout, design n photograph........wut i need is a group of people doing research n writing, coz my chinese is not as well as you guys.......

呢個問題我之前都問過，冇理由成日要睇台灣日本雜誌架，香港咁多人養魚，出一本屬於自己既雜誌應該唔難，不過雜誌要去魚街搵舖頭落廣告就唔可以講人壞話。

雖然我養左魚唔係好耐 唔係好多經驗
不過我都可以幫手design, photo架~
我做design架 第日有咩可以搵麻我

想問問?
1. 既然香港D大魚店都集中在旺角魚街, 成為一個市集, 咁佢地仲有好大需要賣廣告嗎?
2. 一本雜誌要幾多銷量才可維生?
3. 一本魚雜誌要有幾專業化驗設備及生化知識才可能出到D technical articles?

my options:

1. by the time we come out with a magazine, those shops don't need ads, but they do need competitions. so if we ask them to post ads, we should tell them all other shops giving out discount or free stuff when people buy anything from shops wor.....so they can compete and commersialize their shops as well... as u said their shops are centred in price edward, most people love fish must know this place, but do they really know the cheapest and the most professional stuff that each shop is selling? plus if we make a magazine, might attract other people to have a new hobby, right? and at that time we should open our own aquarium store too, hahaha!

2. well i guess we should make it at least every convinient store has our magazine....and those newspaper booth also too, 要幾多銷量才可 depends on how much we invest, but we can also justify the price of magazine to make us 維生, right? so that's not the closest point that we concern now...

3. about this question, as i mentioned before, we should hire some researchers...i guess all of us have certain knowledge of aquarium, but learning is an infinity, so books and research could help us...we can also 訪問 some shops comments or some professional people....right? i guess we don't need everyone to be very professional, coz research can help us gain our knowledge, so the longer we do this magazine, the more knowledge we will absorb......haha, not bad eh?

If I got it right, I would say "You do not need my say-so cause everyone is free to express on the internet".

Going back to the track and the three points :
1. You are right by touching on "competition". So, we need to study the competition model of the Hong Kong Aqua shops. Please if anyone would like to analyse it, say, using Five Force analysis.

2. Better understand the business model of convenient stores and supermarkets before we go on. Ever heard about "introduction fees", "compaign fees", "shelf-display fees", "new shops fees", etc. charged by such chain stores francise operator?

3. It comes back whether we are going to do paper (literature) research or technical/lab research.


Of course I just post some of the small points. The fundamental is :
Some are born enterpreneur;
Some are born salesman/marketing talent;
Some are born back office supporter.

It's good to have dreams and ambition, and only the ambition fire in yours hearts make you success. Hope your plan works.

How about targeting at Gangzhou, including HK, then whole China.
