Today received my new books as suggested by some of you:

1. Ecology of the Planted Aquarium
2. Nature Aquarium World

The second one full of very beautiful pictures. The most stunning one are those with some red plants, but no additional fertilizers and very little (1 per 5 secs) CO2. Plus low light.

The first book is just like the university introductory hand book. I wish I can have it before I bought any aquarium stuff. The first session I've just read is algae control. It correct many of my thinking currently. I guess this book is quite reliable since this is a institutional style handbook with a lot of data and research plus support by many biologist as well. It explain a lot of issues in a more scientific way. And explain consequences for different approach as well.

Anyway, both books will steal my sleeping time in coming weeks.

I would suggest all new beginners to have these book also. The first one will explain many theories of what we are doing. The second can inspire you how to design your tank.

Yes. most of the basic knowledge was not easy explain detail in here. I always perfer learn more from book, it is very useful. Both of the Chinese and English reference book can enrich our basic knowledge.

This book title has 3 volume (pictures of different size tanks). You can buy it in Amazon. The postal fee will be lower if more people buy together.

Actually I have my third book coming (they can't deliver at the same time), I will report soon once I receive.

I've seen another book in "Sheung Mo" book store. Chinese name is something like "how to grow aquarium plants.."

It is a Taiwan translation original written by Hiroshi Yamada. It is also a good book. If Takashi Amano's book has 10 points, then Yamada's book has 8.5.

I have seen them in Amazon, but want to know whether we have another choice!

The book store (Page One) beside City Super in Causeway also has some choices. I remember one big book show the pictures and the setup of different kind of tanks, well, I can't remember precisely, but it consist style from different part of the world. I can say those style much different from what we've seen in our photo album. Therefore, you may try to take a look.

I bought a lot of books about plant aquarium and "Ecology of the Planted Aquarium" I can say it is an excellent reference book. The concept is very practical and helpful but it has a lot of technical term and data which need a good dictionary and patient to digest. If you ask me to pick the best reference book, for sure I will pick this one.
