You can choose SCENCE-Close Up option and you can have the same beautiful close-up fish photo.
Actually, this DC is famous for taking close up object (as I remember 4cm closest).

However, this function can not support fast moving image. So for fish photos, I would first feed them before action... You may try it.

My friend, professional in camera, suggests me to set 1/200 second in manual but I have not tried it yet. you may try it also.

I found the same problem you faced when I used 64MB compactFlash and I believe it is the only disadvantage of this DC and I heard somebody sold it out for only this reason...

However, the reaction time is much much better when 8MB compactFlash is used. i would suggest you may better try to use the memory card with lower MB, i.e. 32MB.

It is just a experience share as I am not pofession in camera also.

Try to use the manaul as i think it is worth reading.

I will try to use SCENCE-Close up mode and ISO200, and change back 8MB.(before used 128MB)
