我是用Hagen Bio CO2 的，CO2泡泡由"天梯"diffusor溶到水中。由於不想在晚上pH降得太低，固用時間掣啓動氣泵及氣石打氣到缸中。

現發現一方法可把氣泵改成另類"電磁閥" -- Hagen diffusor 設有三個排放CO2位置，上、中及下。由於我的缸只有18"x9"x14"，我將排CO2位置設為最上，然後將氣泵氣喉直接插在最下的排放CO2位置。當氣泵啓動時，D氣泡就可以把CO2泡加快"推走"，固減少CO2溶在水中的時間，從而避免pH降得太低。

一個氣泵只賣$45(made in Italy)，但一個電磁閥要賣成$400，省回不少呀。

另外，在鴨寮街買了兩個Windsor牌的digital時間掣，每個$55。一個控制PL燈，一個控制另類"電磁閥"，幾抵玩。(大型連鎖店豐X賣成$68蚊)。

DO U measure the PH value at night ? How do U know "pH降得太低 at night " BTW , if you put the CO2 tubing at the highest slot of the CO2 diffuser, then the efficiency of CO2 dissolve to water will be reduced so much!

Yes. I measured pH when there is max. light and no light. The difference in pH can be as high as 1 (When there is no light the pH is 5 to 5.5, quite low, right?)

I put the tube at the highest slot according to the Hagen CO2 manual, which states that the highest slot is good for 30L tank, the the lowest slot is for 180L tank. My tank is only 34L and the plant growth is OK (I think now the limiting factor is the nutrients because I started to see yellow and dissolved leaves)

The pH is now kept at 6.5 for max. light or no light. Pretty good I think.

Do U measure the PH & the KH value of your house's tape water ? Only know the PH value can't give you the true value of CO2 concentration! I also have a Hagen CO2 diffuser, but I found the bulble always escape to the water surface and I found it is not good enough, may be I didn't use it correctly. Besides, I use compressed CO2 Tank , and found that the PH vaule of my tank is nearly about 6.3.-6.6 , the KH value of the tapewater is 2.2.

Just checked:

Tap water : pH=8, GH=60mg/L(ppm), KH=40mg/L(ppm)
Tank : pH=6.5, GH=40mg/L(ppm), KH=20mg/L(ppm)

I think the KH of my tank is a bit low. Could you please tell me how to raise it? Also, do you know how to convert my KH scale into yours?
