dear all, i have a problem with my tank.

Is that 黑珍珠 should use as the bed soil?
my tank is 18", using ADA soil, open like 4 months ago.
i recently want to add a water cooler (set at 25c) and add a 2213 and i fill it up with 1/2 MA bio ring and 1/2 黑珍珠
the PH and No3 seems haven't change as i test the water but i just found 1 蝦 dead today!!!
is that the problem with the black pearl? should i change all back to bio ring??

my tank is 18x8x10, water level to 9"
currently using a 2213, fill with half Dazs bio ring and half black pearl
a hailea100A water cool set at 25c
and a hanging filter full with dazs bio ring as well on the side.
lighting is T5 8W x 4
usually i'll add water once a week to make the water level keep over 9" .
the 2213 and 100A is new, so i wonder will it be the problem of the black pearl?
