I am using a 18W PL lamp and 36W PL lamp. The size of the tank is 26". I would like to replace the 18W PL lamp. However, my tank cannot be installed a HQI (no space). Therefore, I want to ask

What is T5 Lamp ?

Is T5 lamp better than 36WPL ?
Should I replace the 18W PL by a new 36W PL or T5 ?

How much ? and Would you tell me the size ?

for 26" tank, you may need to by 14W T5 tube (23.5"), around $40 per tube.

my tank is 24" around 90 L water, 17 " tall,

my lighting config.

1, twin 36W PL for front lighting = 72W
2, twin 14W T5 for rear lighting = 28 W

total 100W.

compare with the 14W T5 and 36W PL, PL are more stronger in light. for the rear, the grass are normally higher, so I use T5,
and front is "short pearl", so I use stronger 2 x PL.

both front and back grass grow very good. : )
