水草情迷

Hello Guys, Most of my prawns (About 30) dies in a short time, most of them turn white and die, however, my water plant grow up very fast, my fishs all lives good and no any one die. my shell-fishs population build up 3-5 times, what does it means? should i buy more prawns now? thank you you all.

Without any further information, it is anyone's guess. But I would say NO3 problem if all fish is okay but shrimps drop like flies.

thank you man, i know what NO3 means, however, how it made my prawns die? does too much NO3 will kill my prawns, if i change all my sand into soil, will it help? as i seldom clean the bottom sand. thanks.

Fish can usually tolerate a lot more NO3 than most shrimps could. But then it could be anything else... because shrimps are more sensitive to almost everything than fish.

i see, i believe it is the reason as i nearly no clean for the bottom. beside clean , can i add anything inside to solve this problem. Cheers.

When my fish tank was newly set up, a lot of shrimps died ( more than 60% ) but the situation getting better after water settle down.

thank you all guys, i am using some medium size rocks for bottom (come with the tank when i buy the box set), do you think i can less change water if u change the rocks into black Soil?
