Hi,

I tried to grow "short pearl" I failed - I use just one fan to cool down the temperature, and 2 x 21" T5HO (turn on from 11am-1pm, then 4pm - 7:30pm, then 9pm to 0:30am). Short pearl become yellow and "dissolved". I think this is because the temperature is too high?

Any foreground plant that can withstand a higher temperature?

你要比多D資料, 如缸size, CO2, 燈既v數, 溫度等先有得分析.
重有必須確定你種既係矮珍珠先得.

Oh sorry for not listing the details.

My tank is 24" x 14" x 10", using ADA African soil. CO2 sync with 2 X T5HO (each 24W) and 1 bubble per second. The temperature during daytime with fan on is 28C - 30C.

I also want to add on more fan but not sure if this helps.

Light: 2 X 24W is too little for a 24" tank, recommand 24W X 3
Temp: all plant are fallen within approx. the same temp level, so you just have to come up with a better way to lower your temp.

For your reference, I am using a 24" as well, T5ho 24W X4. And a 4 head fan to cool off.... temp not exceed 29C

But my 24" tank is only 40L, so using 1L = 1W' rule should be OK?

Temperature should be ok wo... light may be just enough.
How do you plant the 矮珍珠? Do you plant it one piece by one piece or you just put the whole piece on the soil? Suggest you use search function to look for key word 矮珍珠 to see the old post (if you haven't done so).

Can you provide a photo of your aquarium? We need to look at the layout and the plants in the aquarium in order to determine if the lighting intensity is enough, sometimes figures can't tell all the truth. 2x24w T5HO probably is enough if you don't have tall plants/wood/stone to create "shadow" and reduce the amount of lighting hitting your "foreground".

You break your lighting period into 3 periods, is there any reason to do that? Normally we split the lighting into 2 period in order to increase the total light coverage and yet keep the algae in control, but breaking into 3 period might be a bit too 'segmented", especially when the tank is not mature and the plant are not fully adapted and grow healthly already.

照睇你個config係無問題，新草翻黎係須要時間適應，尤其是依家天氣咁熱，祗要唔係全軍覆沒，比d耐性等佢地重生。
至於矮珍珠既問題：

1. 貨源問題：係魚街買一餅餅既要更加長時間適應，試下買d浸係水度賣個d，或者問網友相還
2. 光照：標準都係照8個鐘，試下一次過3:00-12:00
3. 二氧化碳：一個泡種陽草太少，加到三個泡吧

Attached are pics of my tank.

Pic1 is my tank's outlook. There is no tall plants that cover the short pearl on the right hand side. I am trying to grow "tiger ear" on the left.

Pic2 shows the short pearl, which I think, is dead.

I will add one more fan but 鏍絲, would 8hrs continuosly cause 青苔?

Also, my sun plants died already
