Hi everybody,

I think here all have seen this CO2 table before. Something I don't quite understand that if I follow the figures inside the table then the CO2 content in my tank would be "66.7 mg/L" (pH 6.0, kH 2 dKH)..... .......It is not reasonable ma.....if really then there is not necessary for any CO2 injection la....but infact not wor....I inject quite high amount and the plants seems very well ar.....

Can here old hand advice me little on this??

I suspect that there is hidden assumption for the figures in this table. The external factor affecting the pH and KH are only the carbonate ion and the injecting CO2. In the case of water condition in commerical aquarium soil, there are other compounds that affect (lower) the pH in addition to the dissolving CO2.

In other words, the figures of this table apply to tank with substrate that do not affect the pH of water (e.g. silicate sand, but not ADA soil.
