比小小意見, 小弟虛心學習

A few suggestion:
1. Wherever possible, get a 24" tank. You'll need 9L of soil for 24" tank.
2. Forget about Eden 501 for your 18" tank. It's not strong enough.
3. Heater is not necessary until you have found your tank temperature lower than 15c
4. You have too many fishes. For 18" tank, try to keep below 15.
5. 巧克力娃娃 will kill all other fishes/ shrimps inside the tank.
6. I don't know if 珍珠龜 will bite your plants.

--> I decide to buy 24" x 12" x 14" Tank. Its size can be fit on my cabient.
2. Forget about Eden 501 for your 18" tank. It's not strong enough.
--> Other than size, what is the differnet between 501 and 511??
3. Heater is not necessary until you have found your tank temperature lower than 15c
--> 15c is not too cool?? 15c is not harmful for fish and water plants?
--> Indoor and not close to windows, during all winter. From your expenerience, is it possible to keep temperature higher 15C?
4. You have too many fishes. For 18" tank, try to keep below 15.
--> For 24' tank, how many fish can we keep ?? How to calculate ??
5. 巧克力娃娃 will kill all other fishes/ shrimps inside the tank.

6. I don't know if 珍珠龜 will bite your plants.
I don't know too. If it bite, I will isolate him.

After I Calculate, except the fish and creature, it costs $2700....is it expensive??

1 預備除氯的水

3 加入ADA泥
4 清洗水草及分株好水草
5 木及石先預放並設計
6 把木及石繞好水草
7 木及石放置在設計的地方
8 先加水一半
9 先種前景草
10 再加水至全滿
11 種中及後景草
12 安裝濾水系統及運作
13 加入 硝化細菌
14 重覆換1/2 的水
15 設燈及CO2系統
16 放入燈魚 及 清潔魚

Day 3 (加入魚)
1 先把魚對水 30分鐘
2 把一些水倒進魚袋中 10分鐘
3 再倒水進魚袋中 10分鐘
4 用魚網放魚入缸

放魚/蝦/龜的次序
1 燈魚 及 清潔魚(Day1-2已放)
2 蝦 - 2隻
3 火焰變色龍
4 短鯛
5 巧克力娃娃
6 龜

battleman: Assuming that you'll get a 24" tank:
1. Forget about Eden 501. It only suit for 12" tank below. In may case, it's just marginal for my 9" tank. I have no experience about Eden 511 but I'll strongly suggest you to get an Eheim 2217. This model should be enough even when you'll install UV/ chiller in future.
2. 15c is kind of reference. Mine had been as low as 18c and none of the creatures/ plants died.
3. I had read about an indicative ratio, saying that it should be 2L of water for 1-cm size fish. But frankly, that's only an indication. However, the fact that the fewer fish it is inside the tank, the better maintenance it should be and lower chance of algae burst.
4. 大暴龍燈具 S 600 T5 24W × 3. Or, if budgete allows, you should buy one set of GLO 24Wx2.
5. For your installation, I would not fill up the tank with water before I have put all the plants and hardware into it.
6. $2,700 is not expensive at all. After 3 months, you may need some liquid fertilizers.

Last but not least, daily maintenance is much more important than the initial setup.

1) Why GLO 24Wx2 is better than 大暴龍燈具 S 600 T5 24W × 3 ?? light colour or ray ?
2) I know Eheim have 水貨....Do you know how much ??
3) Can I us Eheim 2215 for 24"????

1. The quality of GLO is superior. One set of GLO is more than enough for a standard 24" tank.
2. Sorry, I don't know. Let other c hings help.
3. Personally, I'd recommend 2217 if you're going to connect it to UV/ chiller, etc. If you don't have any device, 2215 should be fine.

Why 2155 can not be connected to UV/Chiller? Power is not enough to do so???

battleman: It's not powerful enough. That's why I said you'll need a 2217 for connecting to those devices.

另外Atman CF-1000 可不可以connect to Chiiler / UV??

如果ehiem 2217 放在魚缸同一水平...水流會不會太強???

battleman: You can connect chiller/ UV and other devices to a canister. The problem is whether the canister is powerful to push them. Atman's motorhead can be deteriorated in short period of time. The durability and quality of 2217 is much better. So that's why I recommend Eheim 2217 to you.

GLO is a brand. T5HO and T8 are just the specification of tubes. Philips T5HO and ADA T8 tubes are commonly used for plants as they have better colour spectrum which is good for plants. You can search more threads in this forum for reference.

Yes, GLO uses very good reflective materials and its quality is much superior than other brands available in FS.
