請問矮珍珠的英文名是什麼?

Hi all big brother, I accidently found this:

It's name is "Glossostigma elatinoides".

Actually I see it evertime when I visit the aqaurium, however I don't recognise... how come the version here(in Australia) looks much taller(compare to photos from you guys)?

Glossostigma require strong lighting in order to stay low, it is frequently one of the performance indicator to measure if the lighting is sufficient for a planted aquarium among us. In addition, we use ADA Soil (Amazonia or Malaya) as our substrate, and that also make life a lot easier.

When we bought our Glossostigma, it looks similar to what you quoted, we have to spend a lot of time to spread them out and then plug them into the substrate one by one, quite tedious work indeed, I wouldn't want to try that for sure.

Thanks Andy, so now I know I can find 矮珍珠 here... but just need to wait unit I see a good batch - coz many of them are "tall" not "矮"

It doesn't matter, they grow like weed if conditions is good. Tall ones are easier to plant in the beginning anyway.

Actually, the one that sell in the retail market here in HK are not really "short" at all. We have to insert them all the way into the soil and leave only the last pair of leave exposed, so it doesn't really matter as long as they are the real one. In fact, if it is too short, they don't hold in the soil very well
