水草情迷

May be Monday ( 23/09/2002 ) ,

My 水草tank suddenly too many 綠色表面如o者哩般滑滑的, 佈滿在水草,底沙面上,沈木上. 但可以用手很容易的擦去,不過亦會令其容易擴散到其他地方. 氣味非常難聞, 帶一股很"青"很臭的味道- 綠藻 !!

In Tue ,I see the 水草精華藻類問題 , we said buy "Maracyn" - "萬靈仙" 淡水用抗生素藥丸, then i buy it to try ....

Wah !! one-day-night-over , 綠藻 即消失 ....

Maracyn (active ingredient: Erythromycin - an antibiotic which was sometime prescribed by doctor for bacteria infections(respiratory tract infections, ie, sorethroat): check the name of the antibiotics prescribed by your doctor next time, u might find Erythromycin)
is only effective for bacteria infection, not for other algae. Since
blue-green algae is a kind of bacteria (cyanobacteria), the treatment is effective. But do not misuse the drug, or else
drug-resistance strain of bacteria/blue-green algae may develop (as with all antibiotics). So don't treat Maracyn as a miracle cure-all fish and plant drug.

過 2 日再換 1/3 水和清洗濾桶呀!
